Pyramids of Makkum at Gallery Libby Sellers, NYC:
Flower pyramids, elaborate tall structures designed to hold a cascade of individual blooms, emerged in the Netherlands in the 17th century, at the time of tulip mania. Following the Rijksmuseum's recent restoration of flower pyramids, Royal Tichelaar Makkum commissioned a series of its own, by designers Hella Jongerius, Jurgen Bey, Studio Job and Alexander van Slobbe. Aren't they madly beautiful? HF.
